| Built in 1895 and used as a Cuban Club and the Cuban Club Hotel, the house was converted into St. Joseph's Hospital in 1919 by the owner, Cuban physician Nilo Conrado Pintado. From 1926 the house enjoyed life as the elegant Ocean View Hotel and Ocean View Apartments. It closed in the late 1940's and reopened in 1952 as the Casa Blanca Boarding House. During Key West's depression era it gradually declined until closure in the late 1980's. It has since been lovingly renovated and restored by the present owner, including the addition of a small pool, while maintaining the old world charm and elegance that is fitting its history.
