818 Shavers Lane Shavers Lane runs parallel to Duval and Whitehead between Petronia and Truman. In 1965, this view of a crowded lane with laundry hanging from several lines was typical in Key West. Along the dirt path and beside the house are strewn the detritus of daily living - bedsprings, a quickly abandoned bike on its side, pots and buckets and lots of clutter. The banana tree appears like a splash of green in the midst of a sepia world - yet the vibrancy of the small lane cannot be missed.
